Every day, millions of children around the world wake up early in the morning. They pack their school bags, put on their uniforms or comfortable clothes, enter a school building, sit in organized rows of desks, and listen as a teacher shares knowledge with them for 45 minutes. But today, we see school as something completely normal. So when did people first decide that knowledge should be passed on in special places? And how did we get from the earliest forms of learning to the education system we know today? Let’s start from the beginning of human history. We travel back about 2.5 million years ago, to a time when there was only one “subject” to learn — survival.
